Easy High Temperature Protection with Firesleeve Hook and Loop

August 15, 2025

Firesleeve is as flexible in its uses as it is powerful in its performance. Whether you want to keep heat in or keep heat out, whether you want to protect your cables and pipes from oils, hydraulic fluids, acids or alkalis, Firesleeve is your go-to solution.

That’s why you’ll find that Firesleeve is used in everything from heavy industry and smelting, to automotive, rail and marine applications. You’ll even find it on the next generation of renewable energy, supporting windfarms out at sea and solar arrays right across the country. Dependable and durable, Firesleeve is the first choice when specifying high level thermal and chemical protection for both new equipment and full refits and upgrades of pipes, wires and hoses.

But what if you want to fit Firesleeve later in the process, as a retrofit, or as an addition to an existing system? What happens if a section of your Firesleeve becomes damaged and needs replacing? Do you have to shut down your equipment, disconnect your cables and drain your hoses to fit replacement Firesleeves? Or is there an easier way?

Firesleeve Hook and Loop

Firesleeve Hook and Loop is the easier way to fit Firesleeve at any stage of the process, because it simply clips on to any section of pipework or wiring. While standard Firesleeve is produced as a continuous sleeve, which needs to be slid along pipes and wires during construction or refits, Firesleeve Hook and Loop can be added anytime, to any length of cable or hose.

Firesleeve Hook and Loop still provides all the protection of the main Firesleeve product. It withstands constant operating temperatures up to 260°C and molten splash at up to 1200°C. It has excellent flame resistance, with a silicone coating that melts to create a protective layer of silicone dioxide. And it has remarkable flexibility, with a woven E-glass core that fits around wires and pipes as they weave their way around your machinery.

The only difference is the way it’s fitted.

Upgrade, repair, replace

With Firesleeve Hook and Loop you can quickly and easily upgrade, repair or replace your pipework and wiring protection. It simply clips into place around the conduit that needs protecting and is fixed tightly using the hook and loop fasteners.

Just like the standard Firesleeve, you can order Firesleeve Hook and Loop pre-cut to the exact lengths you require, to save time and waste cutting on site, or you can order by the roll for larger projects, cutting what you need when you need it. You can even specify the colour of Firesleeve you need, to allow for like for like replacement, or to redesign your system in a more logical, colour-coded layout.

Tried and tested

Just like the main Firesleeve product, Firesleeve Hook and Loop is certified by the Mine Safety and Health Administration. This means it is approved for use in some of the most demanding working environments on Earth, including deep underground where work involves extremes of temperature, the use of heavy hydraulic equipment and compliance with the strictest electrical safety regulations to avoid critical failures and accidents. And if it’s good enough for such demanding environments, you can be confident that it will be good enough for you

MSHA approval is just one of the many certifications the Firesleeve range has achieved, giving you complete peace of mind that your cables, hoses and pipework are protected to the very highest standards. Check out our full range of certificates for more details.
