Great Britain was the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution back in 1760, and has been a world leader in manufacturing ever since. That’s why here at National Firesleeve, we’re proud to stock British made goods across our wide range of pipe and cable protection products.
Made in Britain
All National Firesleeve products bear the hallmark ‘Made in Britain’. This is an internationally recognised trademark that is universally trusted throughout supply chain around the world. ‘Made in Britain’ marked products range from chemicals and clothing to transport and technology, from engineering and electronics to software and sports goods.
The ‘Made in Britain’ trademark is held by our British parent company, Sleeve It, who have been manufacturing top quality protective products since 2003. Sleeve It create ‘competitive technical solutions’ to a worldwide customer base, serving pneumatic, hydraulic, automotive, aerospace, military, marine, rail and commercial applications.
What does ‘Made in Britain’ mean to your customers?
The recent Barclays ‘Made in Britain’ report, by Barclays Corporate Banking, surveyed over 10,000 consumers across ten countries, including the United States. This study found that an average of 39% of all respondents believed products ‘Made in Britain’ were of a higher quality, with 66% of Chinese and Indian respondents agreeing with this view. In fact, British made goods are held in such high regard that American consumers are prepared to pay more than 10% extra for British products.
“Our research highlights that there is strong appetite for British-made products all over the world,” says James Binns, Global Head of Trade and Working Capital at Barclays Corporate Banking.
The British Minister for Exports at the Department of International Trade, Graham Stuart MP agreed, saying: “Barclays’ report shines a light on the value of the British brand to global consumers.”
Trusted around the world
Great Britain may only be the 6th largest economy in the world, but the respect and value placed on British goods and services means that Britain is the world’s 4th largest exporter. They are also a major trading partner with the United States, exporting around $72 billion worth of manufactured goods to the US in 2023.
This includes $15bn worth of machinery, $8.6bn worth of vehicles and $5bn worth of medical and technical equipment. Clearly, both US companies and US consumers place great value on goods that are ‘Made in Britain’, particularly in the sectors served by National Firesleeve.

Complement not competition
There are those in the US who are opposed to international imports on principle, believing that this hurts home grown manufacturing. However, with National Firesleeve, the opposite is true.
By providing access to high quality British firesleeves and associated products, we are supporting and promoting a wide range of US industries, varying from manufacturing to mining. Rather than taking away from US industries, we are helping to make them safer and more productive than ever before.
